Describe one habit that brings you joy.
Mother and I.
What brings me joy is sitting with our elders and simply listening. Their stories—short, vivid memories of how life used to be—carry a kind of truth you don’t find in textbooks. The good times, the hard times… but most of all, the times themselves.
Even the food from back then fascinates me.
People don’t eat the same, talk the same, respect the same.
Everything’s changed—and not all of it for the better.
I wonder sometimes: what if we had today’s technology, but lived with yesterday’s values?
We’d be powerful beyond measure.

Great Jason – no need to apologize
My Dad favorite story was reminding us how he walked for miles to his workplace. It is actually far. I don’t know he did it up and down.
I’ve heard snippets from the elders about the war and general family stuff. Now most of the elders are gone and we don’t have the stories to pass down.
The last line is fire.. we’d be unstoppable.
Yes, we learn many things from our fathers. Good or bad, but many. It’s wild how their teachings stick with us when many don’t. The father. It sounds like he worked hard for his family. To walk that far meant he’d probably have done anything for your large family. I remembered that part.
He did work hard, he provided for our needs not wants.
